About the den
One bear, forty thousand bees, and the strong opinion that fun things are worth the wait.
The name
Beehind Schedule is one very small studio making the games we'd want to play. Some of them are cozy. Some of them are loud. All of them are fun, and none of them are rushed.
The name started as a status report and stayed as a philosophy. We'd rather ship something worth your evening than something on time. The bees run the calendar. The bees are perfectionists.
Right now that means two games: Warm Regards, a bear adventure in a valley worth saving, and Overdue, a neon shooter about a repo agent who fell behind on his own payments. Range, we call it.
A brief history
As remembered. Loosely.
A Tuesday
The bear wakes from a nap with an idea about a valley and writes it on a leaf. The leaf is lost immediately.
Later that Tuesday
The idea survives anyway. It becomes Warm Regards. The bees dance approvingly, we think.
A few days later
The bear, full of honey and ambition, also wants neon and explosions. Overdue happens.
Since then
Two games in the works, sixteen original tracks recorded, one mug promoted to Head of Morale, zero deadlines harmed.
The staff
Small team. Excellent attendance, by bear standards.
The Bear
Creative Director
Has range. Cozy valley in the morning, neon shootout after lunch, nap in between. Non-negotiable nap.
The Bees
Scheduling Department, staff of 40,000
Ask when anything ships and they'll dance at you. It's a real system. It has never once helped.
The Mug
Head of Morale
Warm, dependable, has never missed a standup — mostly because it lives on the desk.
You, maybe
Producer, open role
Requirements: patience, snacks, no strong feelings about deadlines. Compensation: honey and gratitude.
